The beautiful streets of London are getting even more beautiful thanks to Ben Wilson, the miniaturist who paints on discarded chewing gum.

He uses a blow-torch to heat up the gum, applies a couple of layers of lacquer to prep the gum. He then uses acrylic paints drying between coats with a blow torch. Finally he finishes with a few coats of lacquer to make the paintings rain-proof and walk-proof. Awesome!

Wilson takes requests from passers by at no charge. He feels this way people open up with their true stories.

For him, his art is all about people, how they relate to other people and how they relate to their environment.
Wilson has painted over 8,000 chewing gum miniatures trying to capture the environment, the people and the beauty. When asked in an interview what he has learnt he said, 'people are always thinking about other people'
